In this workshop you will learn the basic skills to get you started with your dressmaking projects, learn about commercial patterns and what all the terminology means, practice skills like stay stitching, darts, buttonholes, understitching and simple seams and hems. 

Notes and small scale pattern pieces are available to download with the course so that you can sew along with the workshop and practice all the techniques. 

Materials Needed  -  As well as your Sewing Machine and basic sewing tools you will need 80 cm x 45cm Woven fabric, 30cm x 20cm woven interfacing, thread

The Sample Portfolio

The Sample Portfolio workshops allow you to build up a file of techniques to refer to whenever you need them. When you attend the first workshop you will receive a file to start building your portfolio then add to it on each workshop. 

Workshops In this series include Zips, More Zips, Seams and Hems, Pockets, Collars and Cuffs, Essential Dressmaking Techniques 1 & 2, Advanced Dressmaking Techniques, The Importance of Pressing, Machine Feet, Buttons & Buttonholes, Pattern Alterations, Know your fabrics, All about Sleeves and Decorative Stitches.

We will be adding all of these to the membership overtime.
