The Universal Skirt

On this two day Sew Along we will make the Universal Skirt from The Avid Seamstress. The pattern has two versions included – a panel skirt and a puffball skirt – is perfect for any season, day or night.

For the Sew Along we will make the high-waisted panel skirt which features deep pleats, a sleek facing, and an optional contrast hem panel. You can opt for a lined or unlined skirt, finished with a concealed back zip.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight to heavyweight woven fabrics. Cotton, linen, viscose, wool, poplin, chambray, needlecord.

Fabric requirements: Purchase extra fabric and lining if you wish to extend the skirt length.

Panel skirt: 112 cm (44") wide fabric (sizes 6-16 only): 2.25 m // 145 cm (57") wide fabric: 2.1 m.

Panel skirt lining: 112 and 145 cm (44" and 57") wide fabric: 1.7 m.

Sizing: UK 6 – 26 (approx. UK 6/8 – 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 23 cm (9") concealed zip; 0.5 m lightweight fusible interfacing.
